Individuals of both genders; age between 18 and 80 years; low back pain lasting more than 12 weeks, located between the 12th rib and the inferior gluteal fold; pain intensity ≥ 4/10 on the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) in the week prior to baseline assessment; presence of at least one active myofascial trigger point in the lumbopelvic musculature (gluteus medius, gluteus maximus, quadratus lumborum or lumbar paraspinal muscles L1–L5), confirmed by the three clinical criteria of the Delphi consensus by Fernández-de-las-Peñas and Dommerholt (2018); written informed consent
History of previous lumbar spine surgery; presence of signs or symptoms of radiculopathy or neurological impairment; diagnosis of specific spinal pathologies (fracture, tumor, infection or inflammatory diseases); pregnancy; use of analgesic or anti-inflammatory medication within 48 hours prior to assessment; participation in another physiotherapy treatment program for low back pain during the study period; inability to understand or follow study instructions
